snowyday

Reading a biography on Dietrich Bonhoeffer. So good.

Writing in my journal and on post-it notes (as always).

Listening to Bryan and Katie Torwalt and Hillsong Chapel.

Thinking about adoption. This couple’s adoption story brought me to tears.

Wishing I could afford a monthly book budget of $100. You should see all the books on my Amazon wish list.

Watching Downton Abbey and Amazing Grace. If you haven’t seen either one of these yet I couldn’t recommend them more. Especially if you like period pieces.

Oh! I’m also watching the live stream of Passion. I definitely recommend checking this out!

Loving that I get to road trip back to my hometown (Tallahassee, Florida) at the end of the month to be in one of my best friend’s weddings.

Wanting a second cup of coffee.

Needing to be consistent about doing arm workouts. I have a strapless bridesmaid dress to wear very soon!

Feeling anxious about the new semester. Part of me is raring to get back, but the other part isn’t ready to say goodbye to Christmas break yet.

Fun moments with one of my roomies! Don’t you wish you lived with us? Ha!

Reading The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis and The Bravehearted Gospel by Eric Ludy.

Writing this post…

Listening to the rustling leaves and traffic right outside my open window.

Thinking about the human biology that I’m avoiding studying for. My textbook and all my flash cards are strewn across my bed, but I can’t find the motivation to sit down for a long enough duration. Bleh.

Wishing that the leaves would have a full explosion of colors. The seasonal change seems delayed this year and I’m missing all the reds, oranges, and yellows.

Watching this video. The lyrics get me every single time.

Loving that my fall break is this weekend! I get to spend time with a sweet friend and my family. Pure happiness.

Wanting to score some awesome finds when I go thrift shopping with my friend and mom on Friday. It truly is the little things. :)

Needing to work on the two papers I have due next week instead of pouring all of my “writing creativity” into this post…

Feeling thankful for the friendships in my life. I never would have imagined the phenomenal girls I would be blessed to know this time a year ago!

P.S. This photo has a backstory…

Last Saturday, a local frozen yogurt place had a competition that the first 20 people in line would receive free frozen yogurt every day for the next month. Kelsie (one of my close friends) and I were all for that so we decided to give it a try! Well, we were numbers 17 and 18 in line. Hooray! While we were waiting in line we met this sweet boy who entertained us the entire time. Also, I’ve now had frozen yogurt every day since Friday.

 {About to head home on Friday afternoon.}

{Pulling into my neighborhood on Friday. I love my drive home!}

Reading my textbooks. I’m so behind in reading for pleasure, but I’m about to start Overflowing Fullness.

Writing notes as I work through assigned readings in said textbooks. I’m also writing on a multitude of post-it notes. What would we do without post-its?

Listening to my Ben Rector Pandora station. Another one of my favorites.

Thinking about my future classroom. I’m so thankful I get to work toward what I’m passionate about.

Wishing I wasn’t so easily distracted while working on homework. If you're a teacher (or future teacher!) you need to watch this video. I watched it a while ago, but it's distracting me again as I try to focus on Biology.

Hoping that my Biology lab this morning whizzes by.

Watching the activities of campus through my bedroom window. One of my windows overlooks the soccer field and the other gives me the best view of the religion building. It’s fun to observe all the happenings on this little corner of campus.

Loving Yoplait Whips yogurt. If you place one of these in the freezer for a few hours you have yourself a yummy dessert!

Wanting to go hiking at least once this fall.

Needing to buy stamps so I can start sending letters again. On a side note, why are stamps so expensive?

Feeling ready for a new week after my wonderful weekend at home. Those 36 hours were just what I needed.

{Spending my afternoon at Lake Blue Ridge}
Reading Mentor Texts and using too many post-it notes to mark the multitude of fabulous ideas. The fact that this is one of my “fun reads” shows that I’m a (future) teacher nerd.

Writing…this post.

Listening to my Brooke Fraser Pandora station. She’s one of my favorites.

Thinking about how sweet this proposal was (read #2). I would love to be proposed to in my future classroom one day.

Wishing I could order all the books I have on my Amazon wish list. At least my library card will get lots of use this fall.

Hoping for a road trip full of adventures and laughter with my mom. We’re going on a girls trip to Waynesville, North Carolina to see her sister and mom this week.

Watching reruns of The Cosby Show. Gosh, I love this family.

Loving being able to sleep in. These mornings will end as soon as my 7:45 and 8:00 classes start.

Wanting a second cup of coffee. My almond joy creamer is just too good.

Needing to get back into the groove of eating breakfast instead of just having coffee.

Feeling excited and expectant for this school year.
